A fishbowl sorta day....

I have *NO* idea who did these paintings. I pilfered them from a website that didn't acknowledge them. If anyone knows I would be grateful.

Blogging...finding your niche

I find blogging difficult. I always want to post more....divulge more....share more...but I can't. One of my all time favorite blogs to read is a woman with 7 children. She shares so much of her life and of herself...but I can't do that for some reason on a blog. Yet, I feel compelled to make my blog an individual reflection of my interests, my thoughts, my being. The photos I share here...are a reflection of that.

Its also tricky because there is so much crap out there...and I dont want my stuff to be crap lol.

Illusions

Back away from your computer screen. This effect will work at different distances for different people...the faces should swap over! As you come closer to the computer screen again, the faces change back...
Here is why

Keep staring at the lady....her eyes will OPEN!!

The General's Family

There are 9 people in this picture, called The Generals Family, which is a work by the Mexican artist Octavio Ocampo. There are nine different faces in this picture combining to make up the face of the General and to tell the story and the secrets of his life. Although perceived as a distinguished gentleman of solid stock, the images of his past betray his emergence from a peasant family and his impoverished beginnings. We see his mother and father, his wife and other members of his family, even his dog (masquerading as his hand) and as you study the painting you see behind the facade and read the story of a remarkable life.

PostSecret

This is one of my most favorite sites of all time..

.....I often wonder how much is actual "secret" vs how many posts are just artistic license....

The Sands of Time....

Nothing lasts forever. We (and by "we" insert "I") erroneously tend to think of the world as fairly perminant. Same oceans, same lands, same coastline. Sure...if a tsunami comes along every now and again of course things will change radically, but other than that, its all pretty much the same. Right? This photo I've had for awhile. It just reminds me that things slowly change over time.....somehow this is more poignant to me and speaks to my mortality more than the white hairs sprouting on my head.

This is the lighthouse of Rubjerg Knude in Denmark. It was built in 1900 and by 1968 it already couldn't be seen on the sea.

LegoEscher

...as it turns out...all these Lego creations are credited to Andrew Lipsom.
I dont know which I love more: Lego, M. C. Escher...or our thoughtful friend who combined all this plastic brick goodness into heavenly combinations.
