Labor Day weekend.....
There are commercials to the CNE on the television and on the billboards....that's how we Toronto-people know that the summer is ending and school is starting imminently. It was a great summer....short...too short. I am finding time keeps racing while i try desperately to grab a handful of it to slow it down. It's freaking me out. Summertime around here included:
- Popsicles melting in the sun
- trips to friends cottages
- sweaty children and dirty clothes
- countless trips to the local watering holes (splash pads, pools etc)
- declarations of boredom
- healthy glowing skin and lost hats
- a trip to Niagara Falls and a 3 night stay in a hotel. Kids *loved* that.
- eating lunches outdoors while squealing at the lazy buzzing wasps hovering
- picking the veggies for dinner from our vegetable garden
- play dates with friends
- working on the garden and building projects outdoors
- laughing children
- fireworks
- playing in the playhouse with every single stuffed animal that lives in this house
- trips to the mall
- bug hunting in the backyard
and last but not least:
- the obligatory trip to Ontario Place and the CNE (of course).
*sigh*
My baby is going into Grade 1 and my oldest Grade 3. I don't think that there will be another summer quite like this one.
